elitez28 Folding Farm Additions

Friday morning the UPS man stopped by and left a stack of Newegg boxes at the door, I grabbed them and made a bee-line for the test bench. 20 minutes later phase 1 of the new folding farm rig was ready to rock. I installed Windows 7 Pro and the graphics drivers, prepared my console clients and off it went, cranking out ever increasing points for team 200386. Each motherboard will have 6 GTX460s on it in the future, with a custom enclosure to support the 6 cards. Fold on!

I just wanted to sign your guestbook. I saw you on my radar on kakaostats and came by to find out more about your team. You’ll fly past me in about~3.5 days(near the 1800 mark). Fold on in the name of our Savior!

    1. Thanks Ben!

Is this still the CPU you’re using? I have a 1090T and kind of wanted to swap it out for a quad core instead since I don’t CPU fold anymore. Any interest in a trade? Email me if interested.

    1. Hey Brandon, I wish you would’ve seen this about a month ago! I’ve already changed it over to an 1100T and sold the X4 on eBay. I would’ve been thrilled to trade for your 1090T. Thanks for the offer, I wish you the best and hope you still GPU fold!

Hindsight is 20/20. I started folding under team 659 (Folding for Jesus Christ) in December after 31630 (Nerds for Jesus) disbanded. It appears your team did not exist at the time I joined the other team and I never really looked around for alternate teams until this weekend when I got a new 5830. So unfortunately even though the 5830 is a decent card for folding, yeilding 7300 – 7800 if you use advmethods to get OpenMM beta workload it’s sadly incompatible with X-Plane; the only “game” I run. I hate to say it but I don’t think AMD/ATI will ever get their graphics drivers worked out. The drivers are always the problem.

Anyway, I yanked my 9800GTX+ to put in the 5830 and after two days of struggles to get it stable with X-Plane I gave up and let it fold for a day before pulling it and putting in my old 9600GSO. I’m going to dump the 5830 and 9800GTX+ on ebay and maybe even sell off my 1090T too and put all the money towards saving for a 28nm GPU as I expect we’re possibly within 6 months of seeing those coming out. May as well sell my stuff now while it’s still worth something.

Sure, the NFJ website died out, BUT, we are on FaceBook now. 🙂 There are about 4 of us still F@H for team 31630. John 3:16,30. Stanford gave us that number randomly, but God knows we needed it as a reference to F@H makeing His Word as a testimony.

John 3:16 of course is …
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

    John 3:30 is ….
He must increase, but I must decrease.

We would love to have more to F@H for Jesus Christ!

  1. Never realized you guys had that awesome team number! I’ll jump on your facebook page also. We have a facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/fold4jesus
Like us 🙂 I’ve been out of the folding game for awhile here, this setup was actually redone for a silent PC and given to my church for easy worship. Maybe I’ll return to folding one of these days.

Glad to see you stop by though Stev!
